Personal Statement:
Every child deserves a space where they feel cared for, where they can grow, and where they can thrive. Schools are not just places of learning, they are the heartbeat of a vibrant community. Education also serves a bigger purpose: democracy is a governing ideal that has to be regularly renewed and education is how we make that occur. There is a deep and profound connection between the education of our kids and our collective future.
Basic Beliefs Aligned with the D44 Mission Statement:
District 44’s mission focuses on igniting a passion for learning and preparing students to be ready for the future. My beliefs align deeply with this mission:
Every child deserves a safe, welcoming space where they can explore their interests, build their confidence, and grow into their full potential.
Thriving schools are at the heart of thriving communities. When schools succeed, our entire community benefits.
Kids grow quickly, and they need strong foundations—places that equip them to navigate the noise of the world and help them become thoughtful, engaged stewards of change.
Education shapes not only individual lives but also the future of our community, making it a shared responsibility for all of us.
Education/Occupation/Family:
I grew up in Lombard and am now raising my family here. As the child of immigrants, I deeply value the role that community plays in bringing people together and creating opportunities for all. Lombard is my home. I grew up here, thrived in its schools, and now have the joy of raising my family here, too.
Professionally, I’ve dedicated my career to education and workforce development. I currently serve as Executive Director for Undergraduate Innovation at National Louis University, where I focus on developing programs that connect learning, work, and community impact. Throughout my career, I’ve worked in education leadership, supported nonprofit partnerships, and regularly strive for workforce innovation. I’ve had the privilege of working alongside teachers and administrators, and I’ve seen firsthand how schools serve not just students but the entire community. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve on a board that shares my commitment to supporting the schools, students, and families of District 44.
