Earlier this week, officials in Lombard District 44 were notified that Butterfield Principal Kris Walsh was named Elementary Principal of the Year for the DuPage Region.
"Mrs. Walsh is very deserving of this honor, which I understand follows several nominations made by staff," said Superintendent Ted Stec. "I am sure the news is bittersweet given her departure after this year, but we are all certainly proud of her accomplishments that will continue to positively impact the students of Butterfield."
Walsh's award follows the school recently being named a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. According to the DuPage Illinois Principals Association, “these leaders exemplify what it means to be advocates for students, they build capacity within their schools, and they show support their staff, students, families and communities in order to make their schools innovative places for students to grow.”
