The Top Quality Kids in room #14 come to school to learn. We learn by studying, doing our homework, reading books and listening to our teacher. We do this for ourselves so we can be life-long learners. (Class of 2009/2010)

Brain Gym
Exercising is good for the brain.
That is why we take breaks throughout the day to exercise our brain. Ask your child to show you the "hook-up" with their arms. Then point to a finger and ask them to give it a wiggle. Now try the "gotcha" game! In addition, students are asked to bring a water bottle to school and to drink lots of water. A healthy snack time is also encouraged in the morning.

100% of the Second grade students will meet or exceed their target RIT score on the MAP test in the area of Reading by Spring, 2011.
To monitor our progress, we will use the midyear MAP test scores and the Scott Foresman Reading skills test.
As a part of the
continuous improvement process, students are responsibile for managing their own learning processes. Students have set personal learning goals and classroom goals. Students manage their own personal data folders to monitor progress toward these goals. Check out our classroom goals to see how we are doing at reaching our team goals. Ask your child how they are doing at reaching their own personal goals. |
