Principal's Corner

April 2013

Dear Parents and Families of Manor Hill,

We will be giving our MAP (Measure of Annual Progress) testing during the last week of April and the first week of May.  Classroom teachers will let you know the specific days your child will be tested.  Many of our school improvement goals are connected to the MAP testing, so we are very anxious to begin the testing and to see how our students did.  Friday, May 24th, will be a school improvement day.  Students will be attending in the AM only.  We have scheduled the Field Day for that morning, and students will be dismissed at 11:40.  In the afternoon the staff will be reviewing our results from the MAP testing, and attending a school safety training presented by the Lombard Police Department.

Thursday, May 2nd, will be our annual Open House.  The Spring Book Fair will be open at 6:00 PM, and the PTA general meeting will begin at 6:15.  The Open House will begin at 6:30.  Please mark your calendars and plan on attending this important night.

I am excited to share with you that School District #44 has created a new staff position for instructional technology.  This position will help students and teachers use technology to increase student learning.  At this time, we do not know who will be filling that role at Manor Hill.  It will be an exciting addition to the school!

Have a great Spring!

Sincerely,

Robert Schulz

Manor Hill Principal
