PARCC Assessment

Purpose:

This test measures individual student achievement relative to the Illinois Common Core State Standards. The results give parents, teachers and schools one measure of student learning and school performance. It is required by law for all Illinois public school students. Scores are published on the School Report Cards yearly.

Students at these grade levels take the following tests:

Third Grade - English Language Arts (ELA), Math

Fourth Grade - English Language Arts (ELA), Math

Fifth Grade - English Language Arts (ELA), Math

Sixth Grade - English Language Arts (ELA), Math

Seventh Grade - English Language Arts (ELA), Math

Eighth Grade - English Language Arts (ELA), Math

Performance Definitions:

Standards-based education uses standards to help educators and their communities identify explicitly what students must know and be able to do. Educators wrote performance definitions for reading, writing, mathematics, science, social science, fine arts and physical development/health for each of the following four levels: Exceeds Standards, Meets Standards, Below Standards and Academic Warning.

Test Dates: PARCC assessments in April 2017 (Schedules developed within buildings)
